Crooksville Council Meeting Minutes   Monday, May 15                         2017

 

ROLL CALL: Mayor Redfern called the meeting to order with the following members present Mr. Rice, Mr. Locke, Mr. Hampton, Ms. Smith, Ms. Driggs and Mr. Mohler. Tom Collins and Jan Baughman were present.

MINUTES: Motion to approve Clerk’s minutes was made by Mr. Mohler and seconded by Ms. Smith. Motion carried.

APPROVAL OF REPORTS: Motion to approve May Revenue Adjustments to the 2017 Budget was made by Mr. Mohler and seconded by Mr. Locke. Motion carried.

Motion to approve Clerk’s Reports for April was made by Mr. Mohler and seconded by Mr. Locke. Motion carried.

Motion to approve Mayor’s Report for April was made by Mr. Mohler and seconded by Ms. Smith. Motion carried.

SOLICITOR LIST: Jan stated that she has no new updates at this time.

PAID BILLS: A motion to approve Resolution 2017-36 paid bills and payroll was made by Mr. Mohler and seconded by Mr. Rice. Motion carried.

TO BE PAID BILLS: A motion to approve Resolution 2017-37 to be paid bills was made by Mr. Mohler and seconded by Mr. Rice. Motion carried.

TRANSFER: A motion to approve Resolution 2017-38 transferring funds was made by Mr. Rice and seconded by Mr. Mohler. Motion carried.

SAFETY: Motion to approve adding Rusty Hall to the Crooksville Fire/ EMS for a 6 month probationary period was made by Mr. Mohler and seconded by Mr. Rice. Motion carried.

Motion to approve adding Austin Glanemann to the Crooksville Fire/EMS for a 6 month probationary period was made by Mr. Rice and seconded by Ms. Smith. Motion carried.

Police Chief Walters stated that he had Nathan March with him who would like to join the Crooksville Police Auxiliary. He introduced himself and explained that he used to have commission with the Somerset and Kirkersville Police Auxiliary Department. Motion to approve adding Nathan March to the Crooksville Police Auxiliary was made by Mr. Rice and seconded by Mr. Mohler. Motion carried.

BUILDING: Motion to approve building permit for Keith Brown at 154 Moore Street for a privacy fence was made by Mr. Mohler and seconded by Mr. Rice. Motion carried.

LEGISLATIVE: Motion to table the third reading of Ordinance 2588, an Ordinance Establishing Village Storm Water Fees was made by Mr. Mohler and seconded by Mr. Rice. Solicitor Baughman explained that she still needed a little time to finish preparing this and would try to have to Council by the following Monday for them to review. Motion carried.

OTHER OLD BUSINESS: Nothing.

NEW BUSINESS: Mr. Locke stated that he would not be at the workshop meeting next week as he will be on vacation.

CITIZENS COMMENTS/ COMPLAINTS: Officer Carr stated that they went out to the schools today for the Kindergarten graduation. He also explained that there were a couple 8th graders that came down to job shadow and ask questions about the job.

 

EXECUTIVE SESSION: Motion to go into executive session per ORC 121.22 (G) (1) for personnel was made by Mr. Rice and seconded by Mr. Mohler. Motion carried.

Council is out of executive session with no decisions made.

ADJOURNMENT: A motion to adjourn was made by Mr. Mohler and seconded by Mr. Hampton. Motion carried.
