Crooksville Council Meeting Minutes   Monday, June 15,                              2015

ROLL CALL:  Mayor Lantz called the meeting to order with the following members present Mr. Rice, Mr. Redfern, Mr. Hampton, Mr. Dennis, Ms. Driggs, and Mr. Mohler. Tom Collins and Jan Baughman were present.

MINUTES:  Motion to approve Clerk’s minutes was made by Mr. Mohler and seconded by Mr. Rice. Motion carried.

REPORTS:  Motion to approve June revenue adjustments was made by Mr. Mohler and seconded by Mr. Rice. Motion carried.

Motion to approve Mayor’s Report for May was made by Mr. Rice and seconded by Mr. Mohler. Motion carried.

Motion to approve Clerk’s Reports for May was made by Mr. Rice and seconded by Mr. Mohler. Motion carried.

PAID BILLS:  A motion to approve Resolution 2015-38 paid bills and payroll was made by Mr. Mohler and seconded by Mr. Hampton. Motion carried.

TO BE PAID BILLS:  A motion to approve Resolution 2015-39 to be paid bills was made by Mr. Mohler and seconded by Mr. Rice. Motion carried.

TRANSFER:  A motion to approve Resolution 2015-40 transferring funds was made by Mr. Mohler and seconded by Mr. Hampton. Motion carried.

PARK & RECREATION: Motion to approve the purchase of back up pump from Electric Motor & Service for $3,913.75 plus freight was made by Mr. Dennis and seconded by Mr. Hampton. Motion carried.

Mayor Lantz asked if there would be free swim on the 27th for the annual fireworks. Motion was made to have the free swim on the 27th for the Community Day event by Mr. Rice and seconded by Mr. Hampton. Motion carried.

SERVICE: Motion to approve Froehlich Enterprises Inc. and Homerco Enterprises LLC, both of 225 Pine Street, AKA State Liquor Store for C-1, C-2, and D-6 Liquor Permits was made by Mr. Mohler and seconded by Mr. Hampton. Motion carried.

SAFETY: Fire/EMS Chief Ralph Hill was present to introduce two new applicants, Amanda Thompson and Brookelyn Glanemann to Council. Motion to approve adding the three new applicants including Amanda Thompson, Brookelyn Glanemann, and Anthony Salamone was made by Mr. Rice and seconded by Mr. Mohler. Motion carried.

Ralph stated that the LMI surveys are being done in the evenings and they are about half way done and should be done by next Friday.

Police Chief Walters was present to discuss with Council about adding the five police auxiliary spots being that it will only increase cost by approximately $498 a year. Motion to approve adding (5) police auxiliary positions was made by Mr. Redfern and seconded by Mr. Rice. Motion carried.

LEGISLATIVE: Motion to accept the third reading of Ordinance 2526, an Ordinance Establishing the Waterline Replacement Design Debt Service Reserve Fund was made by Mr. Mohler and seconded by Mr. Hampton. Motion carried.

Motion to accept the first reading of Ordinance 2528, an Ordinance Declaring Certain Property Surplus and Authorizing its Sale was made by Mr. Mohler and seconded by Mr. Dennis. Motion carried.

OTHER OLD BUSINESS: Nothing. Mr. Redfern stated that in regards to the questions emailed for the trash hauling he would like to discuss at the next workshop as well as the property maintenance issue, fences, and dumpsters. He feels that these all need discussed and agreed on by Council. He stated that the trash ordinance questions should be first priority.

NEW BUSINESS: Nothing.

CITIZENS COMMENTS/ COMPLAINTS:  Nothing.

ADJOURNMENT:  A motion to adjourn was made by Mr. Mohler and seconded by Mr. Dennis. Motion carried.
