Water Supply

The Village of Crooksville purchases all of its water from the Burr Oak Regional Water District (BORWD). The BORWD is withdrawing ‘groundwater’ from five (5) wells, capable of producing 4 million gallons per day.
The wells draw water from a sand and gravel aquifer, which is a underground water-rich zone, that is within the Hocking River Buried Valley aquifer located in Athens County, Dover Township.

Current Replacement Project

The Village is currently in the process of replacing all water mains and customer services throughout the Village. This was possible through loans and funding from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (OEPA), the U.S Army Corp of Engineers, a Community Development Block Grant and the Appalachia Regional Commission (ARC).
